Liverpool are one of the toughest tickets in the Premier League, and if you want to get into Anfield for a game — and be completely legal about it — you will probably be looking at a hospitality package.
I sell several different Liverpool hospitality packages as part of my English Soccer Consulting Services, so in this post I want to briefly look at one in particular, the Anfield Code Lounge.
This is another example — like the 93:20 Lounge at Manchester City — where the package is simply a good seat plus access to a lounge that’s off limits to the general public. And when we say lounge, what we really mean is basically a sports bar.
It’s not that the lounge itself is spectacular, but it is comfortable. It certainly beats hanging out in your seats before the game, or out on the concourse or at the Fun Zone outside the stadium. You can get some food, have a beer, watch TV, and maybe listen in to some Q&A from a Liverpool “legend” whom you have almost certainly never heard of unless you are a stone cold Liverpool supporter. I literally can’t even remember who it was when I was there.
Being in one of these lounges does carry a certain panache, however. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear you’re not headed for just another seat at a football match.
Of course, what these packages are really about is going to the game. And in the case of the Anfield Code Lounge, the seats are excellent. I have two packages here, both with access to Anfield Code, with seats in Block L11 or (for a little more money) Block L12. I sat in L12 for an FA Cup Merseyside Derby, and here are some views from the seats. (Block L11 is just to left of where I sat.)
For a better perspective, here is a video walking from just outside the lounge into the seats:
There aren’t always so many away fans, by the way. I saw an FA Cup match with Everton, so they got — and sold — a lot more tickets than usual. The whole Anfield Road End was filled with Blues, which made quite a site when they equalized on a fantastic counter-attack.
Additional Liverpool Hospitality Packages
The other packages I sell for Liverpool are in the opposite side, upper tier, with access to different lounges. I haven’t used either of those, but here are the seat locations and views from my broker (click on images for a better look):
