The Anfield Road End at Liverpool’s Anfield.

This all comes from before coronavirus took over the world, but some English clubs are looking to expand, alter or replace their stadiums.

Here are a few I know about.

Vicarage Road, home of Watford FC.

Watford are looking to either expand or replace 21,000-seat Vicarage Road (right). Recently, plans for a roughly £1 billion, 30,000-seater surfaced.

Portsmouth are looking to rebuild the away end at their wonderful old Fratton Park. Here’s my trip to see Pompey play.

Millwall are looking to expand The Den to a modern 34,000-seater. Think of all the cursing that would all for!

Manchester United want to add safe-standing rails in some areas of Old Trafford. Tottenham Hotspur did the same thing, and it’s all about preparing for the possible return of standing areas in English stadiums.

Liverpool want to redo the Anfield Road End (top) to add 1,800 corporate seats and another 5,200 regular seats.

Fulham are already working on a rebuild of their Riverside Stand.

This video has some other intriguing ideas either planned or in the works:
